Not sure when Cherokee Forum turned into Prius Forum, but I do this kinda **** all the time. Have yet to die, or suffocate myself so I guess it worked?

The first thing I noticed when I drove with my hatch open the first time was "DAMN! My exhaust sounds so good!"

Makes me wish I could raise and lower the hatch window like some newer SUV's just so I can hear the exhaust better

You should try it with an exhaust leak between cat and muffler and half the passenger floor missing. That 4.0L sounds pretty sweet pulling a hill in 3rd around 3k RPM. Had that same throaty braaap a 7.3L IH diesel will make in a school bus. lmao

Best suggestion in the thread, and what I did for years, and I imagine I'll do it again when I have a place to park one after moving from the DC area.

LOL... Funny thing about this is, when I first straight piped my exhaust, I didn't do a good job of welding it in place. I was on the course at Jeeptoberfest when it fell off. There was no change in sound, it just moved to underneath the jeep.

I am so going to buy some of that for my Mustang when I get it finished.

Planning on having the downpipe come out of the side of the front bumper - should make it smell better than C16

I'd say, if you're going to do this, at least change the tailpipe to exit behind the rear tire instead of out the back under the bumper. Just that simple change makes it much safer, but monoxide is no joke! It is odorless and tasteless so what you're smelling is combustion gasses, not monoxide.

Unrelated, but this is the most fueled thread I've ever seen. This kinda drama is bizarre around these parts. Wherever the people in this thread are now, I hope they still have their heads screwed on.
