Changed my rear driveshaft u joints, took me almost 3 hrs from start to finish including clean-up, but I sanded the ears for the u joint caps because mine are so damn rusty.

I think the press I rented was bent, because it was impossible to get a good angle on the caps, so it kept binding up after I got it assembled.

Re-did it like 3 times until both joints were buttery smooth, and it rides so nice now. Kind of a PITA but worth it for how well it rides after.

Nice.... this is the headliner I'm planning on. My mom caught wind of me talking about it and is "insisting" on quilting it for me... so she's also insisting on getting quality material, and then insisting on paying for it. Wish she'd at least let me pay for it, but I think it's really cool that she's wanting to get involved in my Jeep build.

The last couple of nights were spent replacing the sheetmetal screws on my Napier flares with similar button-head machine screws and lock nuts--stronger and less risk of poking something that shouldn't be jammed with a sharp tip. Two on each door couldn't be replaced because of the fold in the sheet metal, so for those I covered them with nylon vacuum caps.

Tonight I added some button-head screws to the Rugged Ridge hood vents. The vents are made for TJ and JK hoods, and do not lie exactly flat on the XJ hood (close but not quite). A 1/8" drill bit fits through the holes and allowed a #6 screw to thread into the sheetmetal, then I added blue loctite and a flange nut to the bottom. They sit flush now and are on there firmer. Plus they have a similar look as the Napier flares now too.

nice 6yrds of my fabric was $30 i think, normally 8.99/yrd but got it on sale. only downside is its 43" wide so i have to cut the 6yrds in half to make an even 3yrd section and sew the two together.
