more lift Q's (PICS)
okay so back in the day i had a 94 XJ with a 6.5" lift and 35's, unfortunately never got around to getting a snorkel in and when trying to drive though this one pond blew a rod through the oil pan

anywaysss i ended up selling it and now want to get back into this again.
heres my problem...i dont want to pay another 2000$ which i paid for my 6.5" lift
what are my options for getting the most height for the least amount of money??

I would buy the rough country 6.5" lift and then also buy the slip yoke eliminator option also total should run about $1200
Thats also probally the cheapest in price kit you will find.

cheapest way to fit 38's would be to do a leaf spring conversion in the front.....otherwise, not gonna happen for cheap!!!!
if you have questions on leaf spring conversions just ask me......i have done a few.
last one i did, had full widths, 8''lift, 38's, and hi steer for under $1600 not including the jeep.....$2000 in the whole thing. only you have to be a pretty good fabricator to make it all work on the cheap. having someone do it will cost way more than a lift kit!!!!
and the rough country 6.5'' lift is only $1000.
how are you gonna fit 38's with a 6.5'' lift? huge bump stops?
i have 8'' lift and full widths, and my rear wheel wells are stretched 4'' and 37's rub.......front and rear. had 40's on for mock up and there was no way they were fitting.

where are you located. i have about an 8.5 in lift im selling. its basterd pack rear and huge heavy coils up front. ill sell with out the spacers and shackel drop so it will be a 6.5in lift. and if you gonna use it for mudding its what you want. super stiff and what not. let me know.
Other then ripping the front coil suspension out for front leafs from a yj but not sure how much that would run.
But if you want to run 38's your going to need alot stronger axles unless its going to be a mall crawler so not sure what your playing to do.

just some minor fender trimming and a few strategic whacks with a sledgehammer i could (and have) fit 37's at 2.5" of lift

im not really here to argue....yes it can be done.
most wouldnt want to do it that way because you will drag everything under your jeep over big rocks.
pm me about the front leaf conversion.....someone will prob argue with that too!!!

that is all
not a fan of front leaf conversions but thats a whole different thread
agreed
with 6.5 inches of lift and cutting you could fit 38s i have a buddy that has 4.5 inches of lift bushwacker cut out flares and has 37s so definantely can be done if you want alot of clearance though id say find a 2 door cherokee and 6.5 inches of lift then cut and bend your wheel openings thats prolly your best solution leaf spring conversion would be your last resort hopefully some people prefer it but i am not one of them

how often do you slide roofs over rocks? wheeling upside down? or just roll a lot im curious? i agree minimal lift with larger tires creates a great low COG but were driving unibody xjs not full frame tjs, cjs, or jks. look at your front fenders they look crinkeld in every pic of your jeep. no talking smack just saying. dove nose the front and comp cut/dove tail the rear.
