Lots of people have 250k mi+ on their Jeep with the original engine (and often original trans too), my '95 "only" has 220k mi on it. 300k+ mi is relatively common. If you don't already know, the 4.0L I6 has a reputation of running until the vehicle around it crumbles into a pile of rust.
Here is an XJ Cherokee with over 600k mi on it:

My '94 XJ is about 300 miles from 250,000. Original engine and transmission. Biggest repair has been a blown head gasket. Luckily it blew between 2 cylinders so no oil or coolant was involved.
one thing I will be doing is changing all the fluids on mine, I run synthetic oil and wix filters in everything I got.. my last daily was a toyota and i sold it to my boss at 255k hes got 260+ on it now.. my bmw is at 188k so high millage vehicles aren't anything new to me lol....

love the 612k link...... I can see it no doubt, I had that very year and configuration in an '88 mj...... I put 190k + before selling it (cheap) to my now worthless brother who was supposed to give me first dibs if he sold it....
but I digress, never again)....
anyhow....... the only thing I ever did was exhaust mani swap... (cracked) and the obvious batterys, tires, rotors, brakes one would see with 190k... and it ran strong as new
did I mention my worthless bro?? I see red just thinking about it......... best truck I ever owned.......... period

Now that would be cool if my $300 jeep made it that long! ok first step.. 300k lol.. looks like the crank sensor is to blame for the no spark condition.. hopefully she'll live again this sunday...
