Default Buying pans for Cherokee

I have to make an immediate decision on buying floor pans so need some help. I have a 94 Cherokee (square type - not Grand Cherokee) and a gentleman has some Quadratec pans from I believe a Wrangler. He seems to think that they will fit the Cherokee. Did the Wrangler and the Cherokee have similar foot prints or will they have to be dramatically altered? I am new to all this floor replacement and not sure I possess the skills to do drastic modifications.

Thanks,
Woody

I would say no. You could use it as just like sheet metal and weld it in but I'm sure there totally different.

Very likely not. You can order Cherokee pans from Rockauto though.

Thanks for the info. I have been researching these pans for a week now and just super cautious because I've never undertaken something like this before. I've seen the ones on Ebay, Rockauto, etc. Some are flat, some have very small rounded edges, etc. The ones from Rockauto or C2C, do they have large rounded edges to weld/rivit to the sides (rockers, center hub, etc)? Is one better then the others for this? Do any of these pans just slip in, or do all of them need adjustment/altering? Thanks, Woody

That's kind of a big project to start out on, do you know how much rust is too much?

Cameron, thanks for the feedback. Turbo - no, I don't have a clue how to judge "to much" any advice would be welcome. I'm trying to post pics here to show you, but it asks for a URL and I don't know how to do that. I tried to copy and paste but that didn't work either

Default Jeep rot

My main concern is the rails underneath. The one under the driver's side is the biggest one of concern. Do I need to bolt some metal along side it or bolt something to the top of it? Double reinforce floor above it? Any constructive input would be really appreciated. Thanks

I'm also finding it hard to locate the body support rail that goes under the sheet metal ("U" shaped that has the seat bolt on it). The one on the passenger's side is shot and needs to be replaced. Was that originally a part of the cab? Can you buy that seperately? I can't seem to locate anyone who sells it, or I'm calling it the wrong thing when researching it. Thanks

Either replace the jeep, or time to fab up some new frame rails...lol. That interior looks nice otherwise.

OK, the reason that I took on "such a big project" was that we're still re-cooping from the floods. I had a nice pick up but traded it for an SUV so I can cart around the family but got took by a guy in South Jersey for a POS. That being said, I had to find something extremely cheap but will lat a long time - thus - I found this. It only has a 150,000 K and was well maintained mechanically. I figured the rust wouldn't be that big a project - hence - I'm a dope! So here I am and I have to make the best out of it. I know these engines will go 200 - 300 K so I'm investing the time. If I can get 2 years out of it and get us back on our feet - that's bonus! That's all I'm asking......

Unfortunately didn't see the posts "Get a new Jeep" till just now, so here's the progress so far: Day Two......

What I did after these pictures was grind everything smooth, wire wheel everything, and then spray with rust inhibitor.

The rails don't actually look that bad. The one section below the driver's feet is a little concerning. Any input, feedback????

Also didn't hear anything about where anybody thinks I can get the under body rails that the seat bolt is attached to. The passenger side is rotten out and I can't seem to locate these.
