Does anyone have a good, trusted mechanic they can recommend in the north Los Angeles area? I live in Hollywood, near Griffith Park, so the closer, the better, but I'd entertain all recommendations.. Looking for someone who can not only do engine work but drivetrain, brakes, suspension and electrical....
I have a 4.0L 4x4 Cherokee, if that matters....Thanks in advance.

I think most of us do our own mechanical repairs if we can or rely on other friends for help if it is something is over our skill level. Brakes and suspension is not that hard unless you don't have a place to work on your jeep.

Let us know what you need and once this heat wave is over I am sure someone will will chime in to help if you travel to thieir place. If not my employer has a few good shops in Chatsworth they use for their company vehicles.

I think one of them is Superior Auto on Topanga Cyn Rd and Devonshire.

Right now, I have a few wiring issues.. So someone that is good at diagnosing and dealing with wiring would be helpful. Beyond that, I have 157,000 on my 01' and though it still runs and drive great, I want to have it looked over thoroughly and possibly address and potential problems/ repairs - like wheel bearings, check motor mounts, suspension, drive train , etc... I'd rather head off a problem than breakdown on the 101!

I live In an apartment with no garage, in LA ,and do not have the time or space to properly do this kind of work myself.

 

I drove by the mechanics shop in Chatsworth and it is called Precision Auto on Topanga Cyn Rd near Devonshire. The only electrical shop I know of is Rick's Auto Electric in Whittier. Also Boston Transmission in Paramount is not cheap but they do great work and you could eat off their shop floor! I just had them replace my torque conveter on my 92 XJ. Good luck!

 

about 45 min away from your area. here in Glendora is a awesome shop called ( Tony's auto repair) they are jeep people like you and me. super work at super great pricing. they are the only ones besides myself that I let work on my 94 xj. Also the owner us a jeep speed racer. address is 200 east Route 66 Glendora CA, 91740 the # is (626) 963-2662. the guy to talk to is Conrad Batham. hours are from 7:30am to 5pm mon-fri they do everything you need to keep you jeep on the road and on the trails. tell him Aaron with the white xj sent you

 

also I had wheel bearing, clutch, alternator,some electrical,and tune up done. my jeep was ready on the 2nd day and the bill was less than 1900.00 for all that work. my jeep is at 214k and it runs like new.

JC Fab & Design in Sylmar. Jim and his team can take care of most anything: engine, axle, gearing, fabrication etc. Not so sure of electrical, I take care of that myself...
