Default police tuned Jeep XJ?

I had a 2000 XJ that I bought used. I think it was a former police vehicle (like an undercover vehicle)

I say this because it was quite a bit faster than any stock xj I ever raced (race an 05 mustang gt and kept up till 125mph) and also it had no top speed limiter???

So what do you all think? police vehicle or not?

is a video of my 2000 vs my 2001 0-60 (at the time they were both stock)

looks like an almost 10 sec 0-60 far from impressive no matter how you look at it

I got 8.8 seconds timing from the video and that's not bad for a 12-year-old six cylinder SUV. I'm pretty sure that's a lot faster than mine, I'll have to try.

I think it was tuned after production. therfore it would not show up on a build sheet. also it was totaled after a guy hit me running a red light doing 70.

I timed it in real life at one point and I got 7.2 seconds. The video you saw (the day one) was on my way to school, so it was not the most impressive.

OH and one more thing. it was march 2000 production date. But it had Federal Emissions??? 2 o2 sensors and a single cat. but it had a 2000 build engine.

I ghought all 2000 and 2001 4.0's were california emissions?

They weren't tuned after production. Mostly the police package was suspension, column shift, idle up switch, and 100 MPH speedo.

If someone tuned it it was aftermarket. Or it's just in factory condition and we all drive 12-year-old slugs lol

Federal emissions and California emissions were both on the 2000 model year. That's why they have the names. In 2001 I guess the EPA caught up or Chrysler was lazy and "California Emissions" became the standard "Federal Emissions"

Don't forget the rubber floor! Can't be stopping to soak up prisoner **** now can we? Also heavy duty shocks like most cruisers.

That's about like my old '99 XJ. Was running 215/55/75 tires. Made it VERY snappy and quick.. I noticed the performance hit going to 235/75s. My 31's give me a sad.

This 34 year old vehicle will move my fat-*** from 0 - 60 in 4 seconds tho.. And it's still stock. LOL

If you are street racing I hope you stop,or at least stop posting about it.

I also counted 7.5 seconds,pretty good.

Pretty good.

The police package's premium price procures a ****-proof pediment to protect from a provoked prisoner's puke and pee.
