I was trying to replace the stock radio in an 01 Cherokee XJ and I was dumb in not disconnecting the battery. Now I have shorted something and my instrument panel no longer works along with the keyless entry power locks and radio. I checked the fuses and the radio fuse was blown and I replaced it but still nothing is working. Can anyone offer any advice. Thanks

 

fuses in both boxes checked correct-with test light confirming current to both side

 

so you think it is just a fuse problem and to recheck them?

 

start simple if there juice to both side of fuses then dig deeper do this with key in run position, with key on see if there power to the radio then work backwards

did you use a wiring kit for the new radio. There is a pink wire that runs in the radio wiring harness this wire should have power all the time. If there is no power to that wire check the fuse block in the cab. this wire is located on the top plug above the left arrow in the photo. some times this wire burns.
