REPLACED FUEL WITH NEON SPEC INJECTORS GOT THE RIGHT PART NUMBER,EVERYTHING,SEEMS LIKE THE FUEL PUMP IS MAKING TO MUCH PRESSURE NOW,ITS LEAKING WHERE THE FUEL INTAKE LINE GOES TO THE RAIL N CRACKS NO BREAKS,PUT A GOOD HOSE CLAMP ON IT DIDNT WORK....ANY IDEAS???

 

there should of been a quick disconect there. might try replaceing with proper fitting, seen replacements at autozone. or, did you use high pressure fuel line or regular. could also try 2 clamps.

 

What year jeep do you have? I have a 2001 and I'm in the middle of prepping my Cherokee for 784 injectors and I'm hoping mine doesn't do the same thing. Also if anybody else reads this post let me know if I need to watch out for anything in particular on the 2001 engine setup.

- I'm upgrading my injectors because;
A. One or more of my stock injectors has major leak down (I can hear fuel flowing into the cylinder)
B. want more power, better fuel delivery and possibly better fuel economy

 

It should be a quick disconnect. The ends would look like these:

If your fuel line is connected to the fuel rail with a hose clamp, then you need to replace it. We're talking high pressure here, a hose clamp isn't going to contain it forever.

The section of line that connects to the fuel rail is about 5ft long or so and connects to another section of fuel line just under the fire wall. Costs under $50 for a new one from NAPA.

Just replace the whole thing and save yourself the head ache. Takes less than 5 minutes to do.

My fuel line cracked where it mounts to the intake manifold when I did my injector swap, so i had to replace that section. It was a piece of cake.

 

Don't start or drive it with fuel leaks. And maybe practice your typing & punctuation

 

Did you use new orings and lube them before install?????

 

There is a 4 sided clip inside of the connector where the fuel line attaches to the rail if you didn't use the proper tool you most likely destroyed the clip inside the connection and it doesn't seal properly. this literally just happened to my trans line where it connects to the rad. easy fix. not expensive. Good luck!

 

Does any one have apart number for this fuel pressure line you are talking about. I cant seem to locate it at napa or car quest or autozone. Even a place online wold be fine

Use high pressure (fuel injector) hose and high pressure clamps. Use 2 clamps for each connection.

 

I did the swap on my 99 with the 784s very impressed it did make a little seat of the pants gain but I got 3 extra miles per gallon. I bought new oring kits and used petroleum jelly on them and have not had a problem. By the way I checked the caravans and neons the years listed at the pick and pull and the only car that I found 784s in was 98 stratus with the 2.4L
