Hey folks!

I am considering purchasing the 2" TeraFlex Budget Boost today. I am wondering how difficult it will be to install. I am fairly handy with DIY projects, but I have NEVER done any suspension work. I have a standard houehold "garage full of tools" but that's it.

My questions is, how difficult and long will it be to install this by myself on a weekend?

I'm just going to have a shop install mine when I get my new tires put on, plus you'll need to get an alignment done!

 

Most people can do it in their driveway...minus the alignment.

I would say a 3-4 on a 1-10 scale.

you can easily do it yourself. You will need a 21mm socket and breaker bar for the rear shackle bolts. for the front coils, jack up the front and put jackstands under the frame, unbolt the lower control arms from the axle, the shocks, and the trackbar, put a floor jack under the opposite wheel and jack it up. You should be able to slide the coil out, throw the spacer on, then reinstall the coil. I'd definitely recommend a friend to help though.

Alignment is easy as well, and VERY simple on these trucks - there's only one adjustment to worry about, and that's toe (unless you count re-centering the wheel - then it's 2). Both can be done with reasonable accuracy in your driveway. I set toe in 1/8".

 

X2...It's not hard at all but take your time and be careful working with springs as they are capable of storing a TON of energy. On the XJs you don't have to worry about this much but it's something to keep in mind.

Thanks, we need to rough align a friends jeep and the toe in numbers seemed way off to us. It looks like they were a full 1/16 off from your number.

 

Hey guys quick question, if I have a 2in bb can I leave it in of I add a full lift kit? Say maybe a 4 or 4.5 in lift and keep the bb to make it 6 in total?
