Thanks in advance, wish I had won the lottery so this would not require any thought , I could just order all shiny new stuff.

I will use the same body line you did, and thanks for the help. I am the only XJ owner in my group of friends, so I did not have a reference to determine stock.

I just revived mine today, so I can't speak myself about the tread life but its deep tread and from what I have heard they should last easily past 30,000 or even 40,000 before they get questionable. And they are half the cost of other compatible tires so if you get a flat or stab something though a sidewall on a trail than its not expensive to replace. Also during my research when I was first looking I havent heard of a cap ever separating so I'm not concerned.

Using the bottom line of the body line shown in the photo, I am measuring roughly 30" from axle flange center to body line....I can't use the fender edge, as based on the other build photos I have seen, my wheel wells are trimmed, and the edge is not rolled under.

So what is my approximate existing lift with that measurement? 4.5"? I am at work, so I can't easily post a photo of my XJ for additional reference. I am trying to clear a 33" tire on what appear to be Soft 8's without trimming much more bodywork.

Thanks once again for the help!

Only if you buy the full leafs. Which I highly recommend. I have that kit with full leafs and I love it. If not, you can get them at any auto parts store.

Make sure you call them when you order. They give you a 10% discount for being on cf.

mine measures are 28.5" in the rear which is about a 3" lift. i sit at 5" of lift in the front and i clear 33s pretty well even with the factory flares

okay, so with the obvious sag (each end of the main leaf is bent down), this lift on my XJ probably started as some type of 4-4.5" lift (maybe), so my idea of 3.5" springs, and the shackle relocation kit should "lift" things back to 4.5" at least?

With 5" of lift in the front, what is your front measurement? How thick is a "stock" coil spacer?
I wonder if I use 4.5" coils, 3.5" leaf packs, and a shackle relocation kit and get things balanced out, and THEN tackle the control arms?

At this point financially, the only complete lift I can afford (and not use a charge card) is a RC lift, and I want to use what I already have to make this project not impact the paycheck so much.
