Ground to body line or ? I am swapping a D35 for a 8.25, and trying to go ahead and order the spring packs and u-bolts ahead of time...looking at Rusty's and RE for the spring packs, and trying to determine if I need 3.5" packs or 4.5" packs to start.
Thanks in advance, wish I had won the lottery so this would not require any thought

I will use the same body line you did, and thanks for the help. I am the only XJ owner in my group of friends, so I did not have a reference to determine stock.

So what is my approximate existing lift with that measurement? 4.5"? I am at work, so I can't easily post a photo of my XJ for additional reference. I am trying to clear a 33" tire on what appear to be Soft 8's without trimming much more bodywork.
Thanks once again for the help!

Using the bottom line of the body line shown in the photo, I am measuring roughly 30" from axle flange center to body line....I can't use the fender edge, as based on the other build photos I have seen, my wheel wells are trimmed, and the edge is not rolled under.

With 5" of lift in the front, what is your front measurement? How thick is a "stock" coil spacer?
I wonder if I use 4.5" coils, 3.5" leaf packs, and a shackle relocation kit and get things balanced out, and THEN tackle the control arms?
At this point financially, the only complete lift I can afford (and not use a charge card) is a RC lift, and I want to use what I already have to make this project not impact the paycheck so much.
