Re-painting the front end parts looks great but realy highlights how bad I need to redo the body's paint. Would like to do a qick patch paint job on the Horizontal surfaces but it's too cold and I know it would just make me hate myself for not doing the whole body...

Can't tell from these but they did a fair job of lighting up the turning arc when at 4X4 speeds

Started by using a whole saw and then a rasp bit to file the hole out to the right sized oval. Broke the mounting brackets off the lights, secured them in place with a screw through the bottom of the mirror and sealed them with "The right stuff" black sealent...

Can't remember how much these were at the parts store but I know they were under $20. I didn't want to risk messing up an expensive set if the idea didn't work out... If I could afford it, I would replace them whith real bright ones...

The cab off the F-1 is just sitting on the chassis and it's starting to look like this will all be worth while when I'm done!

I went with a spring over axle setup and made my own custom shock mounts to replace the whimpy stock setup. They now have 12" of travel and I can lift a tire 15" before the other starts to leave the ground

Nothing like a little lift up front! As it sits now, the top of the radiator sits chest high to me. (I'm 6'4")

The shocks that came with the SuperLift kit were maxed out and 2" short at static height! The cure? I took the upper shock mounts off an F-250 and welded them into my coil/spring towers. This gave me an additional 8" of shock height, allowing me to go with Ranchos that max out at 36"

Due to bad weather it took two weeks but, I finally got the frame sandblasted & painted. Got her back in the garage and ready to take the frontend off for 5" lift and rebuild.

I was going to take the bed off too but the P.O. welded it on in such a way that I'll have to take off like a Rubix Cube... They sure look weird with the bodys off. The way the Exploder chassis looked, I was afraid my measurments of wheelbase were wrong til I put them side by side.

Been busy since Christmas. Finally got the body off the donar '92 Explorer. I should be getting the last of the parts for rebuilding and lifting the front end today. Got the cab off the '50 F-1 last night.

The F-1 as she sits today. Pulled into garage hoping to get cab lifted and bed loosened prior to my front end parts arriving. The goal, set it onto the Exploder chassis and start mocking up body mounts while rebuilding the front end...

How do you haul a 1992 Explorer when you don't own a trailer? ...in very small pieces! Scrap prices suck right now so it dosen't look like I will be able to pick up a sandblaster any time soon. The way it looks, Superlift just throws out whatever ship date you want to hear, I have no idea when the rest of my lift will ship so maybe I will have time to get the chassis blasted after all...

1992, Ford, Explorer XLT on delivery day.

A perfectly good daily driver with the exception of needing front wheel bearings. Came with a recent rebuild on the tranny.

Only cost me $400 and I thought I would recoupe that by parting it out. I finally gave up that idea when I figured out that my area only has idiots reading craigs list!

Add the "Hertz" Speakers up and they cost more than the initial rig! $250 for a set of 6" in back and 4.5" up front. Got the sound bar at the Bone-Yard for free.

Originally installed in the rear cargo area. I moved it up to just forward of the rear Shoulder belts and was surprised that I did not gain much amplitude for the front seat passengers. I did gain an extra dome light in the deal though...

Radio shack P/N 275-0020. Wired with fused 5 amp. 12V supply and feeds control voltage to relays via Cat-5 cable. I used one pair per switch because I was not sure what the individual strands would carry.

Speedo, shifter and switches look weird to you? Remember, this Jeep was a police rig and so Bare-Boned that it looked like it had been Car Jacked from a wrecking yard!

I’m trying to retrofit an Overhead Console into my stripped down rig and did not get the complete harness. If you have one, do the three connectors that lead from the passenger side kick panel up to the console merge into a green connector in the kick panel area?

I thought I was going to have the complete harness but it turned out to be about 15 feet of copper that was for the old police light bar and antennas…

Being the smoker that I am, any rear seat passenger is gonna love my latest Bone-Yard scavenge! A set of pivoting Wing Windows (and a couple other parts) for $36 and about 1-1/2 hours playing in "The Man Cave" to swap them in.

The factory style mounts have two additional holes on each side that do not have existing holes on the frame. I still need to see if they are needed or even possible to do on mine...
