The biggest repair was right here where the hood release lever goes.

I tried using the plastic that came with the welder bit it was garbage. It didn't adhere very well and was very flexible. So I decided to go ahead and chop up the broken headlight door and use plastic from it.

Been working on the grill and polishing the centerlines in the evenings. I quit drinking so keeping my hands busy is necessary. The grill and headlight doors had a lot of breaks, cracks and missing pieces. I used the plastic welder to get it all back together. It was a little tedious. That break/rectangular hole is where a clip goes that holds the stainless trim in. Five of these were broken.

Started cleaning up the engine compartment harness. Someone hacked it up pretty good. It was probably the guys that did the Chevy swap. Anyways I got rid of the useless wires and cleaned up everything else. Going to tie alot of the new stuff into it so there isn't a bunch of wires running all over the place. The cooling fan and water pump are getting relays and fuses. Headlight upgrade is a must. Going to reroute the dummy light wires and match them to the aftermarket gauges and what not.

Played with the bondo today. Haven't used that stuff since I lived in the rust belt and was never very good with it. Did alot of thin layers and sanding... Lost my patience with it and set it aside until tomorrow evening.

Hood release before stripping the paint and adding bondo. Next time around I won't try and repair any of the cracks with the welder. Just use it to replace/fill the missing or broken off parts. The epoxy did a much better job securing the cracks.

Missing plastic pieces were a pain. The plastic welding rods that came with the kit were crap. It was a flexible plastic and didn't adhere very well. I trashed them and used plastic from the broken headlight door.

The grill has been coming along quite nicely. That bust right there is where the hood release lever is. Reinforced it with metal screen, "welded" it and covered it all with plastic epoxy. Hopefully it will.last for several more years.

Getting ready to yank the motor to get the numbers off of the cam, investigate the bottom end, straighten out the firewall and clean up the hack arse wiring job someone did.

Got a deal from a buddy on tires. Cobras for the rear and Federals for the front. Rear tires are the same size as the slicks and the fronts are about to inches smaller. If I did my math correctly it should be at the ride height I wanted. Old tires were going flat after a few days so they had to go.
