As far as I'm aware, there are two different 4.7s out there, differing only by the number of teeth on the reluctor wheel that the crankshaft position sensor uses. You can swap reluctor wheels, but it requires removal of the crankshaft, so it's much easier to get one with the proper reluctor on it already. The earlier models were only used for a few years before they increased the number of teeth on the reluctor. I believe one for a 99 GC will be the earlier vintage of 4.7L, but it's been a few years now since I needed this info. Whatever you do, completely rebuild the timing belt tensioner system, at minimum, if you swap in a used motor; it's the problem child on these motors...
