Default Should I replace my front lower control arms with adjustables?

So my lower control arms are shot, the bushings at least are. As far as I know the upper ones are still ok though. I’m trying to decide if I should just try to replace all the bushings or if I should just get some adjustable arms. If I replaced just the lower ones with adjustables would that be beneficial?(like for adjusting caster etc.) Or would it be pointless if I didn’t also replace the upper ones as well with longer adjustable arms at the same time? Just some background information, I recently gave my 97zj a 3.5 inch IRO lift and bigger tires. I went to get an alignment and the guys told me I should definitely figure out my control arms before they do anything which makes complete sense. I’m also a broke college student 😂 so I’m probably leaning towards whatever my cheapest options are. I’m also pretty new to this Jeep thing so any advice is super helpful

I find myself in the same boat. I have only had death wobble once, but feel like putting more caster back in it would make it track better. I'll be interested in the responses.

Hard to say exactly what you should do and what is worth replacing or upgrading so I'll leave that up to you. Generally the upper control arm length has much more effect on castor(cause the mounting point is further from the center of the axle). While the lower arm length might affect castor but to a much lesser degree. When you add a lift to the front suspension the whole axle assembly ends up moving backwards, so adjustable lower arms can be used to compensate for this allowing you to recenter you axles assembly in the front wheel wells.
My xj has a 3-4" lift and I have adjustable lower arms, my uppers are still stock but I do plan to replace them with adjustable arms soon. It drives pretty straight now so I don't plan on trying to mess with the castor until I have adjustable upper arms.
Hope you find something here helpful, best of luck

I did not take note of the difference in mounting lengths. Thanks for that.

I put on my 3" lift, 31" tires and wider wheels all at the same time. There is a definite reduction in the vehicle independently maintaining its track. Far more steering inputs are required than before. I really think more caster will help it and the lower arm bushings are cracked and worn anyway. Interestingly, the upper bushings look fine.
