04 4.7 HO, 138k Whats the story on this code? When I bought the Jeep several months ago it had the code. I was told by the PO that they had the knock sensors replaced. Apparently, the dealer didnt clear it. They disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and it went away. Now I get it intermittently. The code shows up. I clear it and then it will come back in a random amount of time. Sometimes it takes a few weeks. I clear it by removing the battery cable. I dont feel any apparent change in the engine operation. I use premium gas. Can it just mean that I got a bad batch of gas? I hear the 2 sensors are under the "intake manifold". Replacing them sounds expensive. Do codes need to be cleared with a scanner or once the repair is made do they go away?
