Jeep wj fan swap
Today I swapped my 4.7 wj over from a hydrolic fan that gave me issues with high vibrations. To an electric mid 90s ford Taurus fan(high flow rate)
The biggest problem is I have a tow package so it's linked in with a extra cooling radiator and then ran threw the fan. I went down to the local junk yard and pulled a pump off a 4.0 wj (has the same mount but different hoses that all fit the same steering box. But it has no hydro fan. Then I just swapped it in and am going to make a mount for the taurus fan out of the shroud of the old fan. Currently running with no fan till I finish the mount and electrical set up (running to a switch into the cab)

I know this is an old thread, but Im new to the Grand Cherokee, and I have run into the Hydro fan failing on me, now I would like to go this same route but I got a few questions.
1st. Can I use the same power steering pump? Basically it has a high pressure output and a return line, so I'm thinking of just routing the 2 line thru the steering box and eliminating the hydro fan, and cooler.
2nd. Can I hen just go with an electric OEM fan, should be same size from the Laredo WJ right?
Thx

what a mess! I can see why anyone would want to change that out.
I recommend using a solder gun to make cuts to fit the fan. much smoother and more precise than a saw.
