I have a 96 Grand cherokee with a 5.2L. I do mild off
, beaches, light trails, etc. When I have my engine rebuilt I want to get a little more power, 300 to 350hp or so. Now, I was changing my transmission oil today and I notices some metal shavings in the pan. It still shifts ok so im not in a big hurry. For what I do with my jeep should I have my 44re rebuilt or swap for something else/better? I have heard there is a guy who will rebuild a transmission by me for $650. Any thoughts? Thanks!
