Hi Folks,

Just now signed up on the forum. We just purchased a 2020 Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4. One of the reasons we bought the vehicle is to be able to tow it behind our motorhome. I am going to install a Class 3 trailer hitch with plug and new facia trim piece and will need to install a front base plate and plug up front also. I am told the rear 7 pin plug will need to be activated via OBD2 scanner by a dealership. I have my own OBD2 scanner (Innova), can I do the activation with my own scanner with any ease, or am I going to have to pay a dealership $200 for a few minutes of work?

Second is the front base plate. I have a Roadmaster Falcon 5250 tow bar set up. I have researched the install and I have read anywhere from 8-15 hours if I did it or 6-8 hours for a shop to do it at the cost of $1000-$3000 ( ridiculous). Does the whole bumper cover have to come off or can it be done by removing just the lower grill assembly? I live in West Central TN
