I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee, with only 104,000 miles on it. It's got the 6 cyl engine. I'm starting to do the Smyth Ute conversion, which as you know will make this into a UTE pickup.
I see that most owners that have done this already, raise the front end approx. 1" , so that the vehicle sits a little more level. I contacted Mark, at Smyth, and asked why do this, because I do not want the vehicle to be any higher.
He told me that once the conversion is completed, the vehicle weighs in at nearly 300 pounds lighter than stock. Since all that was removed from the rear end, the stock springs will make the vehicle sit higher in the rear.
My question is this : does anyone know of rear springs for my vehicle that are shorter than stock, but still retain the same ride quality of the stock springs ? As I said before, my goal is to have the Cherokee sit in a normal stance after the conversion. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks in advance.

Default ATTENTION ALL USER: Please read before posting!!!To all users of CF:
PLEASE, before posting technical questions, take some time to help others out, by adding details in the user control panel. There's 2 ways to do this. First, in the upper left corner on the front page of the site, is a menu button labeled UserCP.
After you click on that you'll see this menu:
Please take the time to click on the highlighted sections and fill out the vehicle information for your vehicle. The signature link is also helpful for any additional information like mods done, links to your build or other vehicles owned.
This helps EVERYONE out by informing them immediately about your year, make, model, etc.
These details are necessary for responders to accurately answer your questions without guessing or having to ask what are the specifics of the vehicle you are referring to. You can add these details easily and permanently by creating a signature or adding your truck details to your existing signature.
5 minutes of your time doing this now will save a ton of time and effort later.
