Default Moog Variable-Rate Springs

One of my coil springs is broken - not my fault! - and so it's time to replace them. But [and I know this is madness] I need to keep my Cherokee stock height for the moment, if for no other reason than I'm not redoing the rear right now, and I don't want a front-high Cherokee!

Several parts stores list the Moog CC782 as the correct drop-in replacement for the Cherokee, but the Rock Lizard budget lift article suggests that these are actually an inch longer than stock [with stock weight up front, of course]. To make matters more confusing, Summit lists the CC778, CC780, and the CC782 as being drop-in replacements.

So my question, first, is if anyone's used any of these Moog springs, and if so, what model number gives stock height? Second, how do people feel about these variable-rate springs vs the fixed rate stock springs?

Looks like no-one's got experience with the Moogs, so let's go a different direction with this. Has anyone replaced their coil springs with stock-height springs, and if so, what did you use, and how did it work?

Most guys on here would just say buy a cheapy 2" lift and you have all new suspension (if you buy the right one) and you're that much taller.

To make matters more confusing, I just measured my height, and it's 16" [instead of 17] on all the wheels except the one with the broken coil, which is 17". It should be about an inch lower [because the end of the coil snapped off, and the next bit of spring is resting on the perch], but instead it's an inch higher.

Junkyard might not be a bad way to go. I'll replace both the coil springs, no matter what, but if my leafs are sagging an inch, I may as well get "settled in" coils. My worry now is that if I buy the wrong Moogs, and they're an inch high, and my leafs are an inch low, I'll end up with a 2 inch height difference, high in front. And there's no way I'm replacing leafs on this particular XJ; she's rusted beyond any rational expectation.

No money for a budget lift kit, but a good suggestion, anyway. And I want it stock height, anyway. I know, crazy.
