I have a 96 Grand with about a 2" lift. A guy at 4 Wheel Parts Warehouse recommended to get the Bilstein 4600 shocks. They said the 5100's were to big for my lift, the 4600's were just right. They seem fine but I notice that I get a loud slam in the rear when I hit larger bumps or go over large speed bumps to fast. Could this be my shocks? I measured from eye to eye and its about 19.5" and I believe the 4600's are around 22" fully extended. Are these shocks to small for my Jeep?

If they are to small would bar pin eliminators fix it? Dont they add about an inch of length?

 

Sounds like they're too short. Measure the shock shaft fully extended. Only around half of the total length should be exposed at ride height. That would make an 8" stroke, 4" up travel and 4" down travel.
