Ok here's the situation. I bought an aftermarket stereo receiver for my '02 GCL. After many months of trying, I can't find where my battery bleed/drain is. It kills my brand new battery within 3-4 days.
So here's my big question. What stock radios from jeep will fit my '02 GCL? I'm hoping for something from a later model jeep. 2010 or later? Will they work with the steering wheel controls? Something that has BT and maybe a screen?
Any input that anyone can offer would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to go with the Mopar RB1 navigation radio, which was a factory radio option for the 2002-04 WJ Grand Cherokee, and is plug and play into the factory harnesses and antenna. You'd just need to run the GPS antenna, which is as easy as placing it on top of the dash in the middle of the defroster vents and running the wire down through to the radio opening and plugging it into the back of the radio. You'll also need a map DVD if you choose to use the navigation, which is readily available on eBay. It won't give you Bluetooth, but it WILL give you a screen and GPS nav. Newer radios WON'T fit into a WJ Grand Cherokee due to the dashboard opening and the fact that the 2008+ radios communicate with the Jeep's computer systems, whereas the older radios aren't connected to the computer systems. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Steering wheel controls will work with all stock radios for 2002-04 Grand Cherokee WJ's.

While there are some good OEM options out there in certain vehicles... I've never been a fan of them personally.... that's just IMHO.
If you want something nice, that won't cost an arm and a leg... For example I picked up a Clarion DVD/NAV unit...and put it in my 99 XJ.... now yes I had to do some modification to get it in correctly but wasn't rocket science. Has all the goodies and bluetooth as well. And of course I bypassed mine for the DVD just because I wasn't about to tear up my lower center console to attach a wire to my parking brake... I'm a responsible adult and don't watch DVDs when I'm driving. Dorks.
But by going this route..the point Im making is you can get a really nice aftermarket unit that will do all you need for probably less than tracking down an OEM unit of some sort to use.
Got my Clarion 604DX DVD/NAV unit from a reputable seller on e-Bay a few years ago for a darn good deal.

Yeah they make a Double-DIN kit for the Cherokee XJ, Wrangler TJ, and Grand Cherokee WJ now. I think Metra makes it, but Scosche might make it as well. You have to put the factory HVAC vents back into the dash kit, and I think cut out part of the factory radio bracket in the dash.Originally Posted by RocketMouse

I think the Original Poster (OP) wants to go OEM.
