Default QUICK HELP: 1992 Aftermarket Keyless Entry Question

Hi guys, I feel like I have searched the entire internet and I still need some confirmation if possible,

I've got a 1992 2-door with factory keyless entry (who knows where the crap RF remote is) but it does not have a factory alarm.

I've got 99% of my new Crimestopper alarm/remote start/keyless entry completed. The only thing that is not functioning is the keyless entry. I kept searching to see if we had negative or positive door locks and multiple people said negative. I do not believe that is the case considering I hooked up the lock to the orange/purple wire and unlock to the pink/purple in this plug in the drivers kick panel and nothing happened.

When I put a test light on these wires and hit the lock or unlock it lights up so it has to be positive. It looks like I'll have to fab up some relays and tap into the existing actuator relays, but my question is: Where are the correct wires and what color are they that will lock and unlock all the doors? I only ask that because when I hit these wires with a 12v source, I only heard the passenger and hatch pop. I don't think this led to the drivers actuator or else I wasn't hitting it with enough voltage?

Let me know so I can get the jeep back on the road tonight please!

Just to close this out for future guys. Those are indeed the correct wires, but the system is a positive pulse. You can order a kit on amazon to change it from a negative to positive pulse (for like $12) or you can just wire up two relays like I did. The full system is working now and I love it.

I am trying to do something similar in my 1994 cherokee at the moment and could REALLY use some tips.

I bought an Omega Proline kit off of amazon and thought I had wired it up correctly after taking the old module and bulb out and placing the new one there. I only connected 4 wires from the jeep to the new module as per the directions... does this have something to do with being positive or negative? HELP

Hi Charles Edwin,

Figured it in the mean time? I think the answer to your question is 'positive pulse' that actually means that when you put 12v on the wire, the locks will actuate depending on what wire you just pulsed.

I realize this thread is old, but could you tell me what you did to get it to work with the relays more specifically? I'm very stumped.

Two 5-pin relays, one for Lock, one for Unlock

Normally-closed output pin: Connect to ground so that the other direction works
Normally-open output pin: Connect to the appropriate Lock or Unlock wire in your Jeep
Power Input: Fused 12V
Coil Side 1: Fused 12V
Coil Side 2: negative-pulse output from the Remote system
