I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with having a trailer harness maybe. Since with the trailer plug it combines the tail and turn. Maybe a little power is leaking over. Because when I had led brake lights I would hit the brakes and the parking lights would dimly light. I don't know. I just gave up too much work for not enough gain. I have bigger fish to fry.

Did you guys get this solved? I've swapped every single light over on my 01 XJ to LED

Nope, sure don't. All of my bulbs were direct swaps with the addition of a LED flasher relay to fix the rapid flashing that LED turn signals will cause.

It could be your harness, only way to check for sure would be to fully abandon it, try your LED swap and see if it's remedied.

it doesn't matter much to me anymore. Even if that did fix it no way I'll ditch the harness. Where did you get that led flasher relay though?

Anyone have a link to these? I am looking for a kit or part numbers for each bulb (front and back) I would need - and the relay for the flashers. I looked around on the internet to find them and am just finding bulk packs. - thanks in advance!

I found these kits for the interior but nothing great for the exterior:

never got them to all work. I don't know if anyone did. If you want to try you can find the bulb numbers on Google then look for the LED alternative. I know there are two 3157 in each front turn signal, and 1 194 on the side markers, 1 194 in the third brake light, and all the rear lights are 3157 bulbs. I just got the LED versions that matched the color. Never got the brakes to work and the dash lights flash when my hazards are on. Maybe because they're led too.

Wow. All this confusion!

Just buy the correct bulbs and an electronic flasher unit and it should all be plug and play.

This isn't rocket science.

in theory that works, but these are jeeps and they don't like electronics. I've tried electronic flashers, resistors, many different brands of LEDs. Same problem every time I try to put in led brake lights. All the parking lights all flash (along with interior dash lights) whenever I hit either turn signal. They just won't work and I don't know why. It makes no sense but it doesn't work.
