Default H4 headlight upgrade

I bought some aftermarket headlights they use 9003 bulbs so i removed old headlights plugged the new ones in but the new ones are so dim the turn signal lighys are brighter anyone have this problem i have a 97 cherokee sport. Need help.

Not to repeat what has been said but a new harness like a Putco will even improve your stock headlights. The stock one was marginal to say the least when it was new.

Used the putco wiring harness upgrade how to here on the forum. Glad I installed it. Light output is so much better. H4 housing/bulbs will come soon enough. Glad the pics will help too.

FWIW, years ago a guy on one of the Jeep forums measured the light output before and after the harness install with a lumen meter. Easy 35% improvement.

That information and above photo should be in a sticky as many times as it comes up, but I guess that only would help those who bother to look for it.

Do you want this on Low beams? Get Follow the above links and get yourself a relay harness, Rampage housings and good 55/60w H4 Bulbs! Just do it man!:

Does the Putco harness include the wires to the light switch on the steering column or just from the light relays to the bulbs?

It's just the wiring and relays to replace the light harness up front. Nothing to replace on steering column.
