So ultimately I purchased some like $40 headlamps from car I.D....well you get what I pay for. The housings look awesome they have a little lens in front of the bulb,also they have these sockets for blue bulbs....so I was thinking I would get some better quality bulbs and additionally install some red l.e.d. bulbs where the blue "hid" effect bulbs go. So they would glow almost like the Oracle headlights they have for the wrangler. The bulbs are like $30 bucks and the l.e.d.s are $10. Does it sound like out would be worth the trouble and does anyone have any suggestions?

I would replace them with better lenses. I run hella e codes and they are great. expensive but great. Autopal apparent has a good set but I haven't run them. You should upgrade the harness first though.

 

I won't run anything other than truck lite led headlights. So much better than all the other stuff I've tried. Also the easiest.

 

I looked at the trucklite's and they look great, better than the jw speakers in my opinion. On your profile pic u have got green lights in your housings,which I really like. So do the trucklites have those or are they a different set?

I really like the look of mine just afraid they still won't be better than stock with new bulbs,I just want them a bit brighter. Plus I really would like red l.e.d.s but could not find a housing I liked with the red color.

 

they aren't in the housing, and I took them off because they were annoying and added unnecessary wiring. I've gotten to the point where most "cool light thingys" are just something else to break.



You might be able to see the strip in this picture. If you look in my build thread I'm pretty sure I've posted all the lighting stuff I've done. From color changing around the ceiling, green in the grill, led cluster lights, all led interior and exterior, green license plate light, green CB antenna. I've done a lot... Oh and most people's favorite the green that went with my sub.
