Not sure if the reds will be any brighter in the tail lights. I’ve always thought that incandescent in the tail and front park turn lights were very bright. They reflect off road signs from like a quarter mile away. Guess I’ll find out tonight.

And apparently it was summer 2018 I put the reverse bulbs in. Lol. I think they’re the brightest the reverse lights could possibly be. If anyone were to need more light for reverse then auxiliary lighting would be the only way to get more light.

the red are the same brand and everything just red instead of white.
Thanks I am going to give them a try. Cause while the Zevo's I used are very visible they are not bright back there.

You running the cover still on the light on the driver's side?

no covers on mine. That Jeep actually didn’t originally even have the footwell lights. I pulled them from my parts Jeep. It doesn’t even have the switches on the rear doors. I have a set to install.

And I just finished removing, cleaning and reinstalling the hvac blower in our Volkswagen. It has been squealing for about a year. Lol. Now that I got that out of the way I’m going to start installing some leds in the Jeeps. Stay tuned for pics. I also need to go to work for a couple hours soon so I’ll have to finish the bulbs after that. Think I’ll start with the taillights.

I didn't even know that was possible.

It’s a 98. SE. I added the footwell lights and the glove box light. Still need to add the vanity mirror light harness and the rear door switches. It did come with power mirrors and rear window defroster at least. I haven’t seen one without the power mirrors but I have seen them without the rear defrost and without the rear wiper. Oh and I have a set of heated mirrors to install at some point too.

So I got the leds in the shifter bezels. The trans still has the blue diffuser and the 4wd has the diffuser removed. I might put a bezel in with the diffuser because it’s kinda bright. They’re much more red than they look on the pics.

OK so there is something else I am curious about.
You have glove box light?
I am pretty sure I don't in my '00.
I will have to go look now.
Will probably have some follow up questions on that. LOL
I was just pouring over my parts catalogs.
Can't be sure but it kind of looks like '98 might have been the last year with one.
They list a part number for the switch for '98, 4565022, but for '99 it says "Not Required".

It has been said that since you have a rear defogger the heated mirrors are plug and play so.....

Just so you know, if you don't already, vanity light visors came in at least 2 different ways.
'99 is a one wire one. Has an internal ground. '00 and pretty sure '01 has a 2 wire set up with an external ground.
I discovered the difference when I put an overhead console in my '00 that was from a '99.
I am assuming that '97 and '98 would be like '99. I tell you this cause to make it easier you will want the visors to match the harness.
But I am sure there is a work around.
But then there is also the color issue. Not of the cloth on the visor, obviously that can be changed, but the color of the mirror plastic itself.
At least I am pretty sure about the color issue.
Thinking '99 mirrors would be the darker gray (Agate) and '97 and '98 would be the lighter gray (Mist Gray).
Unless of course you have the tan interior. Then it is Saddle, '97 and '98, or Camel, '99 and up.

Yeah have never seen one without power mirrors either but have seen them with no rear wiper and/or defogger.
The one switch bezel, believe the switch is in the middle position so I guess a rear wiper, looks weird and the no switch bezel even weirder. LOL.

Well we no longer have the 01 which did not have a glove box light. So I can’t check to see if the connector is there. I also can’t remember if there is always a provision for one on the part of the dash around the glove box. Like a hole not there that needs to be or something. I’ll have to check on the other 3.

So I got bored today and decided to go to a boneyard I have never been too before and poke around.
Found a '97 with the glove box light.

I didn't take a close look at it but how does that come out?

I poked around in my '00. Pretty sure there is no connector.
Also no hole for the plunger to come through.
Both those I could rig if I wanted too.
What I think I might have is the bump that is part of molding inside the glove box.
Looks to be about where the plunger would be. To push it in when you close it.
I will know better if and when I go back to grab that and some small stuff that I did find .
Assuming what I eyeballed today is still there when I do. LOL.

I also meant to say that 90% of my 98 interior is from a 99. Except I haven’t found any door panels for manual windows from a 99 up so they’re mist grey still with agate insets. And the A pillar trim on 97-98 is held on by screws whee the 99-01 just has metal clips. And I used the glove box handle from the 98 with the agate cover because I never figured out how to swap the lock cylinder over.

Ill take a look after and see and see if I have the correct parts for what’s needed to have the light. There is the piece behind the glove box that has the hole in it if I remember correctly.

I’m also nearly finished with the led install. I’m just waiting for the yellow which have not arrived in the mail yet which is for the indicator light that’s lit when the rear defrost is on. And I need to install the taillight bulbs still.

The T5 that I got fit well. I used red for the instruments which were only 3 because I only have a speedo and gas gauge. Also red for brake, seatbelt and liftgate open indicator. Then white for the check engine, part time, low wash, airbag and high beam indicator.

I only have warning lights for oil, temp and battery and those are the same T10 that I used in the bezels. They have a silicone dome over the cob led.

I just assumed that hole in the metal that the plunger comes through was part of the whole dash support.
Poking around now I am not so sure. Looks like that section might be missing from this Ebay part.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/97-01-Jeep-...4383.l4275.c10

And if that is true looks like it might pop out and I can swap the whole piece.
Wish I investigated it further at the boneyard when I was there.
And I should compare the glove box door and handle in mine to the '97 to see if there are any differences.
Glad the glove box comes out easy. I will take mine off and walk it right out to the parts Jeep if I go back. LOL.

I will keep an eye out for '99 to '01 Agate manual window door panels for you.
Just don't hold your breath.

I wish Jeep kept the screws in the pillars instead of going to those clips. I busted one when I did my headliner.
Do you still have the caps that cover the screws in those? LOL.
Just out of curiosity are there slots in the metal behind the pillar for the clips to go in on a '98?
I would think there would not be but.......
No idea how you are going to deal with that if you want to change those over.
Going to have to get creative on that one.
