Hell no!! They're not resetable. They're dumber than a box of rocks once the key is off. Plug N play. Go drive it and smile. Then after that, post up your happy findings.

Curiosity has gotten the best of me and I'm off to the junkyard to see if this will work for the 4banger as well. With an '86 (TBI) I just need to find one older than '90, correct?

I pulled one from an '89 that I put in last night. Startup to a smooth idle is quicker and it idles better. Can't believe it worked. I'm interested to see the fuel savings in a few days. The '86 thru at least '89 had a single injector on top of the throttle body- not sure about '90.

Get an ECU out of any 89 or 90 4.0 equipped XJ or MJ since you have a manual trans.

Update on my neighbor's 87.

Put the volvo injectors in.

0 280 155 746.

What a pleasant upgrade!!

Quicker starts, better throttle response and a bit better MPG. And mind you, we did this for safety reasons as the original injectors can split and spray fuel on your hot engine. This 87 already ran great with a late model eCU and TCU and we weren't expecting much improvement. Nice.....
