Someone should want it.

I'm gonna take this opportunity to clarify something.

You can use the ECU from an auto trans equipped vehicle in either an auto or manual trans one.

I've used the manual ones in an auto and there are some idle quality issues at a stop in gear.

My buddy has a scrap 92 xj auto 4.0 2wd. Would I be able to swap the ecu from that to my 88 mj 4.0 auto 4x4 and get the power gain?

No. Must be 89 or 90 only.

Do you have manual or auto trans?

I know this is the Commanche section but am assuming this applies to Cherokees as well. I have an 88 and would love a bit more power.. I assume a Commanche ECU will work on a Cherokee?

I'll be scouring the local yard for a 89-90 ECU now! Thanks!
