Model: Cherokee
Default engine swap: comanche to cherokee

So a connecting rod pushed thru the oil pan of my '95 H.O. 4.0
last weekend mud boggin'. I have a 1987 comanche laredo 4.0.
My question: is the engine block/head compatible with my '95 cherokee?
I think the 87 comanche's motor is probably not the H.O. version as the
cherokee is the H.O. I'm just interested if the block/heads are inter-
changeable. I'm not concerned about a few horsepower. I imagine the
87 American motors truck has the Renix ignition and the 95 cherokee has
the updated Chrysler electronics. Anyone out there have experienced
regarding this motor comparability usage? -Bruski in NE lower pensula
of Michigan. Friday May 26th.

Easy peasy.

Click on the link below which covers going the opposite way that you're planning, but you'll see what is needed.
