Default 1989 mj

I have a mj with a 2.5 and a 4.0 from an Cherokee 1991 I want to install it to my mj can I just drop it in and plug it in with the wiring from the 1991 and use the mjs from firewall back or will I need to do a full wire swap also and what else will I run in to doing this? Engine mounts fuel tank and what not thank you for any help on this topic

you will need everything.... I mean everything .....and I think you would have to weld in new engine mounts so to put it short its a big job

Yep. Everything. Cause 89 & 91 had entirely different engine management system.

motor mounts are different? I have done a couple Cherokee 89 with 1996 guts but never Comanche......



maybe i should do that 4.7 Chevy vortex or just do the 350 swap if it’s all that I have a Cherokee with a 350 in it I think they used a 1988 v6 Cherokee body tho thanks for you help

yes engine mounts are in different locations on a 2.5 vs a 4.0

well they are bolt on no cutting no welding and jobs done I am wondering about the fuel pump are they the same or different
