I am looking at a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited and it has weird braces and tubing coming out of bottom of bumper, a plug mounted under the licence plate like for a trailer, and a red switch in the center console that when you switch it up the check engine light comes on. Can someone tell me what it's for? Is it a light bar brace? See pic.

For flat towing I'd assume. Like behind an RV

What does the switch inside the middle console do for it?

That switch deactivates the Electronic power steering to prevent a wobble when flat towed, look 2014 Cherokee flat tow wobble on google.
