Steering Angle Sensor
Here's one for your weird files.
Battery died in my 2014 Trailhawk.
After replacement, the check engine light came on. A tech checked the ODB code can said there was an unspecified error from the steering angle sensor.
This seems to be a known issue with a variety of Jeep products. Disconnecting the black battery cable, I understand, can produce this error...for unknown reasons.
I was also told that in about 3 days, it would clear itself and was assured to ignore the check engine light.
Indeed, three days later, the check engine light turned off, and everything is completely back to normal.
Just in case this ever comes up for you...

Either it was a loss of communication with the Steering Angle Sensor or performance issue. Usually, the SAS needs to be done through a reset procedure for what I'm reading here can be done on its own over time.
