Does anyone know what the warranty is for a PTU on a 2014 Cherokee KL? I have 55K. Thanks.

It would probably fall under the 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty. In your case you may be past the 5 year date, it will depend on the original date of sale.

I had my PTU replaced a year ago when it was just under 5 years and it was covered. Then a few months ago at just over 6 years I needed a new transmission at 56,000 miles and it was out of pocket.

The first dealer suggested replacing the valve body for $2700, and if that didn't work an entire transmission would be $6800. I assume that would be a new transmission. A second opinion was a reman transmission for $5500. I took it to another Jeep dealer who put in a Mopar remanufactured transmission kit (part 21002003) with a 3 year warranty. The total bill was $4378.37. So it paid to shop around. Jeep Customer Care was sympathetic, but unable to help with it because it is a little over 6 years old and out of warranty, (only 56,000 miles though).

Holy cow, I am not looking forward to that happening.
