I’ve had some problems with my Cherokee for the past 6 months and havent been able to figure out.
1. Sometimes when i start the car it immediately looses power and turns off. I have to keep trying to start it and accelerate it to reach 4000 rpm and wait for it to stabilize, then it runs fine.
2. Other times when im driving a red flashing light turns on and the stability control light also, the car looses power and starts to shake. I turn it off and start the cycle described in the first item.
When the engine tank is full it doesnt cause any trouble, it starts with 3/4 to half tank.
Already replaced engine pump, air sensor and acceleration throttle and the problem persist.
The scanner shows fails in different cylinders, at some point they have all failed.
Today i replaced two ignition coils (1 & 2 as they were the latest to show in scanner) and the car keeps having the same trouble. At the shop they found that ignition coil two was not giving a spark at first and then it did but the car was shaking when accelerating.
It stayed at the shop but still no sign of the problem.
Any advice?

Reason: Clarify car type
What “shop” are you using? It sounds like they are just throwing parts at the problem, an expensive and non-productive method.
I´ve been to 4 or 5 different shops where they do a diagnostics and suggest repairs. I live in Honduras, and the car is imported from the US (57k miles) so the local dealer wont take it because it wasn´t sold by them. Been to a couple of electric specialist and 2 other full maintenance shops. The main problem when i take it is that the car doesn't malfunction while in the shop so they haven't been able to figure out what it is. Thankfully, yesterday it failed while on the shop right after changing the coils so i hope they can detect the problem but i´ve been so involved in the whole process i though i reach out on a forum for other suggestions because I´m worried that they're just gonna say that its the ECM (which is really expensive) and may not be the actual problem.
