2015 Cherokee Trailhawk: Hello folks, I've searched the forum for my issue, which is that my power liftgate begins to open, then immediately closes. When I manually open it the fob or indoor button does not function.

Anyone else come across this? Thank you in advance!

I feel your pain. I hate my 2014 Grand. So much trouble. I'm having the liftgate issue and the fuse trick did not work. Not sure what to do next.

I replaced the liftgate module, but unfortunately that did not fix the issue. And now looking to replace the powered liftgate struck.

If your liftgate closes, clasps, then releases without locking, after having to replace the rear liftgate glass, then likely the sensor in your liftgate actuator is failing. if your liftgate window glass breaks, tiny pieces fall directly into the actuator. Sometimes you can slam the door several times to dislodge them, but the grease in the actuator's gears will most likely hold onto the glass bits and continue to be an issue. You can try to flush the unit with cleaner and then re-lube it, but you still may be unable to get it all. The actuators are fairly cheap on Amazon and eBay and very easy to replace yourself. Took me about 15 minutes and most of that was finding the correct star-head bit to remove the 3 screws.

Thanks for the information. It makes complete sense. I will try it. Brent

Replacing the driver side powered strut resolved my issues. Purchased from the auto wrecker.
