CEL thrown during decelleration/braking
Wife drives a 2014 Cherokee Limited, Active Drive I. All told, other than the normal software updates, it has been okay. However -
It always seems to have a Check Engine Light. It seems to clear itself, but of course, the remote start, etc. won't work if it was there when it was shut off. It has happened before, and since it clears itself, the dealer couldn't seem to figure it out. As is normal with "the wife's vehicle"
, it was hard to tell when and why it threw a code. Until -
I drove it on a long-ish trip this week. It seems to do it on a long deceleration/light braking, like on an off-ramp coming up to a stop sign-type situation. My code reader can't find it either (it's old), so I don't know what exactly the code is, but has anyone else run across something similar? It hasn't had a software flash since about July, has there been anything more recent? Thanks!!

If you decide to take your vehicle back to a certified dealer for new diagnosis, I would be happy to assist you in making an appointment or locating a dealership. Please feel free to reach out.

We only have 1 dealer within a day's drive, Lithia. And they've been fine with trying to help, the problem is the fact that the on-board diagnostics on these things really suck, you can't read the code yourself when it throws, and as soon as a dealer tech tries to replicate it, it won't do it. What moron thought it was a good idea to have a CEL that will disable functions, yet doesn't save in the computer?
