Newbie question: Does this model come with the Tow Package already installed, or would I have to add it?
The tow package is an optional package for the Trailhawk model and not a standard inclusion. But it seems like most dealers order them with it, so the odds are that if you're looking at a used one, that it will have it.

Thank you. I''m looking at a 2020 Cherokee Limited that I am not sure has the tow package , and a 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk. I'm not sure if this has the tow package either. I don't think that I'm getting all of the information that I need from the dealership, and it's helpful to know that the tow package is not necessarily included - although it may be - and hence the need to follow through.
What is included with the "tow package?"
Chief among my concerns is that I need to tow an 1800 lb. load by the end of May, but I would like a larger (4500 lb) range.

Just curious: can a tow package be installed on the Jeep Cherokee Limited and, if so, what would be the approximate cost at a dealership? This given the same 3.2L V6 engine.

I doubt the actual tow package would be able to be installed, since it would mean changing gear ratios and numerous mechanical parts. It would be more cost efficient to find one with the package already.
Another option would be to simply have a hitch and wiring kit put on it. You could see what the dealer would charge, or perhaps even U-haul would be able to put one on it. You can get pricing on their website.

Thank you. As the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk lists the tow package as "optional" then maybe installation is easier than for the Limited? The Limited does not list the tow package as "optional." I get conflicting results when I try to research the matter.

Looking at a 2019 Trailhawk with the tow package installed as per the dealer. But is there a way to check this? Surely their service department can confirm it for me if they want to make the sale. I'm getting leery of car salesmen who tell me that I'll be "just fine" towing 1800 lbs with a vehicle that has a capacity of 2000 lbs. Am I missing something?
This VIN lookup might show which packages are installed.

I ended up buying a 2019 Trailhawk with the factory installed tow package.
At 60,000 miles, I gather that I should schedule some maintenance checks, especially for the transmission. I purchased pretty good coverage, and my mechanic says that he'll honor it, so what kind of maintenance issues should I expect in the near future?
Also: the vehicle has an annoying hiccup that I did not experience during the test-drive: it will stall and immediately start up again when I'm at an intersection, and in drive holding down the brake pedal. It doesn't happen frequently, but often enough that I'm getting concerned.
A Google search reveals multiple reasons for this, but can anyone tell me the most likely reasons for this model? I have an appointment with the mechanic in two weeks, but if there is anything that I can check in the meantime, then I'd appreciate it.

(Checks date on the post, nope not yesterday)
The starting and stop would be the ESS system. Perfectly normal and irritating. If you don't have an owners manual, you can register and download one at https://pictures.dealer.com/tomahlch...7144caa3d3.pdf That will explain the ESS system and lists the routine maintenance.

Thank you! I downloaded the owner's manual yesterday and will check out the ESS system.
Edit: Further, I found this link on the web and will discuss the information with my mechanic:

I've heard of a few people buying the AutoStop and been happy with it. It does take a little bit of dash disassembly to get to where you plug it in. They have a video on the product page that shows how.
