2019 Cherokee Limited 4x4 - Tire Question
Hi Guys,
Just purchased my first Jeep, new to this community.
I have seen several threads about tire sizing and what can and cannot fit, but nothing for my specific situation.
I am really unimpressed with my stock tires, 225/60/R18. I was driving the beaches this past weekend and the car performed poorly. Granted the tires are not designed as such but still it is a Jeep NO?!? Anyway, I want new AT tires, and since I will be in the market for new tires, I would like to go as large as possible.
I want to stress that I do not want to lift my vehicle at all as that comes with complications of its own, just want to know what is the largest diameter/width tire I could install with zero mods. I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited AD1 current stock tires 225/60/R18
Any advice would be much appreciated, Thanks!

Hmmm. Can't help you with the size, but I can recommend an excellent tire that is oddly unknown and inexpensive. Kumho AT51.
At the recommendation of some of the old-timers here, I tried them. Wow. I now have them on my XJ and my WJ, my son has them on his SporTrac, another son & daughter have the HT version on their Ford Escapes, and I have the all season flavor on my family van, a Sienna.
These are the best tires I have ever owned. They do sing a bit, but just a bit. For the improved handling and wet & snow performance they provide, I can live with it.
There are probably $400 tires out there that are better, but that's fine with me.

I believe the Trailhawks come with Falken Wildpeak A/Ts. Not sure of the size, or if they're available in your size, but they are A/T tires.
EDIT: I looked for the Falken Wildpeak A/Ts in your size, and good news, I found em.

You just bought the Jeep, decided it doesn't do sand that well and want to buy new tires for it? The reality is that any nearly 3800 lb vehicle with street or A/T tires is not going to do that great on sand. On the plus side, the AD1 system does do a reasonable job at limiting wheel spin so you don't dig holes and end up high centered. It still takes a bit of experience to drive in sand though.
The trailhawk tires are 245, or about 3/4" wider, and roughly and an inch taller. The trailhawk also sits a touch higher and I think has wider rims.

I get all that... i put hundreds of miles on the beach every year fishing up and down the east coast. Driving on the beach is one of the few things I actually know how to do. Rather than tell me the Jeep is a POS, maybe you have something to offer in helping me with my question on tire size?
