Default 2019 Cherokee key fob problems

One of the Key Fobs is having problems. I noticed that it would open and close the door locks with no problems. The remote start started getting unpredictable. I went to a dealer and they have a device to test it.
They said that it showed that it was defective.

The car is still in the first 36 months warranty.

They said they would have to replace the two key fobs and then reprogram the car to work with the new ones,

When I told them it was still under warranty they said they may have to check if there is an internal problem and maybe it just has to be cleaned.

What am I entitled to under the warranty? New ones or a cheaper solution.

Cost-wise, you'd think it would be cheaper to just replace the problematic remote. But if they're charging as warranty work, they make more money on labor than parts. You can pop the remote apart yourself and look at the contacts. The instructions for opening it up to replace the battery are in your owners manual. It might just be a weak battery too, as you're typically further away when you do remote starting, although the vehicle will tell you when the remote batteries are getting weak.

They tested the remote with a device that has different lights that come on depending on what the remote is doing. They say that means the remote is defective.
I don't want a temporary fix if I am entitled to a replacement remote instead of what will effectively be a "refurbished" or repaired remote. From what they told me they could open it and
check the contacts etc. I want a new remote not a repaired one. They say they have to reprogram the computer to do this.
I'll make an appointment for the repair but I want to know if I have to accept a repaired remote instead of a new one.
I think the more expensive solution was before I told them the car is still under warranty.
If they replace the remote they may have to replace both of them and reprogram the computer.
