2018 Cherokee Trailhawk block heater problem
I am new to the forum . I purchased a 2017 Cherokee Limited 5 months ago a really liked it . I have not had a Jeep in a number of years but I always had good luck and fun times with 3 other Jeeps that I had over the years.
I liked the 2017 Cherokee so much that I decided to purchase a 2018 Cherokee Trailhawk to get more of a good thing .
I purchased the 2018 with the cold weather package that included a engine block heater.
I used the block heater two times and the first time after driving the Jeep after disconnecting the heater I got a coolant temperature high message after driving about .5 miles . The temperature bargauge was at minamum setting and the information gauge was blank . I shut of the engine and restarted it and the temperature read 170 . I drove it to the dealer and they could not find a problem.
The next night I again used the block heater and this time after driving the Jeep and got a check engine light .
Back to the dealer and they think that the engine block heater option was not programed into the ECU and this caused the check engine light .
Has anyone had a problem like this with their Cherokee?
