2015 TH Transmission Pickle
Newbie here. Needing some opinions on the pickle i'm currently in with my 2015 Cherokee TH 3.2 I've recently gotten. First off it has 85,000 on it. Got a deal on it i couldn't refuse. Needed cams and rockers on front bank which was thankfully under warranty. Knew it has had transmission issues from day one, but since the dealer couldn't pull a code there is no issue. PSH! Has always been herky jerky, sluggish, and has a long hang-time between 4/5. More recently between 4/5 its been slamming into gear to the point where it almost locks up the wheels. If you don't wear a seat belt while driving you'd be knock unconscious from hitting the steering wheel. Yup that bad. I'm well aware of the issues in these transmissions, and pretty obvious that the transmissions are garbage. My worry is the strain these seldom HARD shifts are putting on the rest of the drive train is detrimental to the life of all of the other drive components.
There is an additional year warranty added to the transmission which puts me a little more than a year out from that expiring. So the pickle I need some opinions on what would be the best route to go. I see I have 3 options. Pay $4200+ to have the transmission replaced, purchase a 4 year MOPAR powertrain warranty when existing expires $3650++, drive it as is and hope it doesn't tear up the rest of the 4x4 components. Selling it is not a consideration, cant pass this issue along to someone else.
I greatly value your opinions. Any information yall may have from your experiences would be great to hear!
Thanks!

I'm having a similar issue for the same vehicle, 2015, 104k on it now... bang shifting, not as drastic as you though... and it only happens decelerating after reaching 29 to 31mph. Did you ever find a solution? I still have a GWC Warranty on this vehicle so a trans replacement should be covered, but I'm not sure if there was an easier fix. Any luck with yours?
