Looking to buy an 2019 Cherokee Altitude
Hello all,
I am looking to buy a 2019 Cherokee 4x4 with Altitude package and the 3.2. I have a few of questions that I cannot seem to find an answer to online.
1. Has the 9-speed auto issues been resolved? I have seen some videos of the issues, but I have not found anything that says Jeep has a real fix for it.
2. Does the 2nd row seat recline?
3. Any other issues/quirks with the Cherokee folks have noticed?
Thanks,
JT

As far as I know, the trans issues have been resolved, for the most part. It was mainly the early 2014 models that has the most issues. Granted, there will still be failures here and there, but not much more than usually for any make or model.
The second row seat does not recline, but does fold ALMOST flat. (Real close to flat, but not 100%).
There are plenty of quirks, but nothing to worry about. Definitely get the 3.2 v6, don't go for the 4 cylinder, they are underpowered.
Good Luck

I work for a used car dealer, and have driven multiple Cherokee KL's. No problems with the tranny that I've noticed. There isn't a whole lot of room in the 2nd row but the seat folds down pretty flat, as Red1992XJ menrtioned (2nd row seats don't recline). Go for the 2.0T I4 or the 3.2L V6, and Active Drive II 4X4 if you can (if you're not going for FWD).

When did they add the 2.0 turbo? That looks pretty sharp. When I was looking for my 2014, all that was available was the 2.4 and 3.2. As I recall, the specs were
2.4 180 hp 171 ftlb
3.2 271 hp 239 ftlb
When I test drove, the difference between the 4 and 6 cyl felt pretty drastic. (91hp and 68ftlb is definitely noticeable).
