I am looking at a 2014 Cherokee Latitude 4X4 V6. Do I need to worry about the transmission? It has 88,000 miles on it, so would think that any issues would be resolved.
Thanks,
Ernie

Don't do it. My 2014 KL - New trans (**** shifts jerky and always searching for the right gear and ends up in too high of gear bogging it down), New GPS unit (died 1st week), New HVAC dash system (don't ask), New steering wheel, New sun roof, bad sensor the first week, just has a new PTU put in (4 wh dr service light), New front axles.....and way more. Junk. After my warranty runs out - good bye. Volvo here I come.

Honestly, I have not had too many problems. It seems like if you get a good one, its great. If you get a bad one, its real bad. I wouldn't not get one, but i can't recommend it.

Thanks for the replies. The dealer is giving me a couple of days to drive it around. I drive about 40 miles each way to work on the interstate. I drives and runs really well and I like it. No major repairs on the report. It shows 2 recalls, one is closed and the other that is open is for shifting into neutral. I don't know what to do. I don't see problems in the service history, and it drives / shifts fine. I like it a lot, but I'm a little leery.

The recall for shifting into neutral is a very recent recall, I just got the notice on it yesterday. If you don't mind me asking, what are the specifics of the car (trim, options,) and how much are they asking?

Latitude. 4WD. 3.2 V6 w/ 9 speed. Heated seats and steering wheel. The dealer web site is $14,500, but it is also on Cargurus ( same vehicle / dealership) for $12,900

12,900 isn't bad. Does it have a factory hitch (trailer tow pack), or active drive 2?

How are the tires? If they are newer, that's like a 750 dollar savings you don't have to invest right away.

No trailer package. I'm not sure what active drive 2 is so I would guess no. The tires are Michelin Defender in good shape, probably 2/3 of the tread left. It looks like the upgraded wheel option. Since it has heated seats and steering wheel it looks like it has the cold weather package. I need to look for the cord for the block heater if it is indeed the cold weather package.

It may not have a block heater, that was not standard with the cold weather package until 2015. Looks like it does not have the active drive 2 (you can look on Jeep's website for a description). Seems like a solid buy.

Thanks. This is my first Jeep, so I'm still learning some things. I'm really happy with it so far.

I bought a new 2014 Trailhawk, and just traded it in today with 101000 miles on it. Through the life of the vehicle not one thing went wrong, NOT one thing! No check engine lights, nothing. I didn't even have to replace a single light bulb. The only time it went back to the dealer was for the few recalls, which were done for free. I replaced the front and rear brakes myself, and did all the oil changes (Amsoil), that's it. I traded it in due to the 100k miles it has on it. I do not want to have to start replacing front end parts...etc. I am happy to say that I have traded it for a new 2019 Trailhawk Elite......I hope I have the same good luck with this one, I pick it up tomorrow!

Congratulations on the trouble-free 2014 and on the new 2019! We hear a lot about problems but only a few owners relate that they don’t have problems.

Good to hear about your 2014 and congratulations on the new one. I am not expecting problems with the 2014 I just bought, but it is really good to hear about your trouble free '14.
