Hello everyone. I've been lurking for a while as I've been shopping for XJ's and gleaning info from the knowledge here.

No Cherokee yet, but hopefully I'll have a nice one soon.

Welcome. Have patience in your search. I looked for quite a while before I found mine. There are tons of XJs out there so you can be picky. But once you have it, you're gonna love it! Good luck with the hunt

Thanks to all for the good will.

I looked at an '01 today, but it was priced a bit high. Also, I've recently discovered the potential 0331 cylinder head "time bomb". I'm now thinking that I should maybe seek out a '98-'99.

Any advice would be great. I'm not really a fan of automatic transmissions, but I haven't seen too many 4 door, 4WD, 4.0L, 5-Speed XJ's, which would be my ideal ride.

Thanks to all and keep the advice coming.

Cory

I believe the 99 still has the head issue, but why turn down a jeep just for that?

Hey Cory, good luck with your search. Be patient, and don't jump until you're sure it's what you want. Just get the cleanest one you can afford, and remember modified doesn't make it worth more.
