Default soon to be cherokee owner

Hi there.
Pretty sure i'm getting one but don't know exactly what yet. Figured this would be a good place to do a little research.

pretty much looking for a capable expedition rig not a hard core crawler. Important things are freeway capable and working A/C that blows snow. Secondary is clearance and articulation but they are important as well.

Budget is around seven or eight thousand for the completed rig. Wondering about buying already done or getting the little ol lady's pride and joy and fixing it up.

My current toys are 71 Chevelle SS clone, 71 Chevy Cheyenne K10 short step side, 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins 4x4. The Chevelle is going bye bye to make room for the jeep.

Thanks for letting me in. Looks like a great place. Lots of info.

Take your time shopping and you will eventually run across a little old ladies pride and joy. When I was looking I scanned Craigslist everyday within 400 miles of me. A nice one with only 101,000 miles popped up the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and I drove an hour Thanksgiving day and bought it. It was one of those owned by an older man who changed the oil every 3000 miles weather it needed it or not and made sure everything was always working. Looked brand new inside and out and under the hood.

With your budget you can find a nice one for $4500 which would leave you plenty for add ons.

Have fun shopping!

Welcome from Wisconsin. I actually did get mine from a little old lady, who hardly drove it. I inherited it from my mother. When she passed away in 2008, with 62,000 miles on it. 4 years later, it is at 70,000 miles.

Default All good things come to those who wait

I was able to score on that one owner ride and yes, it was a little old lady.

I forgot to update this thread when the big event happened. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f59/ne...-house-148099/

I've been driving it for a while now and I must say, I love it. I can't wait to get the lift, winch, tires, and roof basket on it.

Hi I would look for one you can enhance to your own requirements.
Little old ladies are not the best at mechanics and driving skills, so bare in mind.
Good luck with your search.
