Noobie Jeep owner
Hi all!
I'm 51 years old, have owned more than 50 different vehicles since my first car at 17, and bought my very FIRST Jeep this Wednesday - a '95 Grand Cherokee Limited with the 5.2 V8 and nearly 157k miles, for $1893 "on the road". Everything works...the cruise, the A/C (blows nice and cold), the power windows, seats, etc.
So far I installed new battery cable ends (clamps) - the negative terminal clamp's bolt was broken so it wasn't getting an adequate charge. I washed it yesterday...it was fairly nasty, especially the wheels, which could still use some more attention. I bought a replacement center cap for one of the wheels (the cap was missing) and I bought new headlights and taillights (headlights have a bit of condensation on the inside and the left one seems to have remnants of paper towel inside it and both the tail light lenses are broken), as well as an owners manual kit, a Haynes and Chiltons manuals (I like to do my own wrenching when possible). All my purchases were on ebay. I also drilled the hole in the A/C condensation drain from the inside so I could clean it out (after consulting this forum). No water came out the hole, even after I inserted a stiff wire into it in an attempt to clear any debris (the passenger floorboard is wet from the condensation drain to near the front seat mounts). I installed a plastic plug for now, but plan on using an air hose/blow gun to ensure the drain is clear.
Other than the things mentioned, and some bumps and missing paint here and there...I think it's in GREAT shape! It has no noticeable rust on the body or undercarriage.
These photos were all taken AFTER I cleaned it up a bit.
I'm pretty excited about it and am already very impressed with the way it rides/drives, given its age and mileage. I'm looking forward to learning from other members here and contributing when I can.

Hey Scott, nice looking ZJ. I had a '97. Loved it, but sold it to my son.
ET JEEP did a great write up on a fix for the ZJ's drain line. (Send him a Private Message for the missing pics). >->https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f52/ac...pet-fix-24246/
