Happy to have found this forum. I'm sure it will be a valuable resource for me.
I'm Johnny, living in Aberdeen, Scotland. I have just bought a 1999 Cherokee XJ 4.0 Orvis... though I won't have it on my driveway until Thursday/Friday.
I'm a classic car nut who has never owned a Jeep before but has always loved the XJ.
A bit of car history for you...
First car 1975 MG Midget 1500 (still owned)
1998 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T
2003 Audi S3
2001 Audi RS4
2007 Aston Martin V8 Vantage
1967 MGB Roadster 4.0 V8 conversion
2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 4
2001 Mini Cooper (still owned)
2003 Porsche Boxster (still owned)
1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 Orvis (new!)
...as you can tell, I seem to find the automotive sweet spot to be circa turn of the millennium!
So, please go easy as I inevitably ask some stoopid questions. Purpley goodness.
Thanks.
I haven't got it in my possession yet so here are a few of the seller's photos...
I'll be giving it a thorough clean, paint correction and leather restoration when I get it.
93000 miles on it. Standard Orvis spec other than those extra lights and an LPG kit under the boot floor.
Hello...Lovely looking Jeep. I have just bought a Cherokee XJ and wondered if you knew of a specialist Jeep mechanic in Scotland (preferrably Glasgow). Needs some work and I'm not having much luck sourcing someone.

Thanks Will.
Sorry, I'm not sure. I'm up in Aberdeen. Should be simple enough for most mechanics though. I was going to take mine to a local 4x4 specialist for anything 4wd related.
